
Hakan Demir began his career in the film industry in 1998 as a cameraassistant and soon progressed to working as an assistant director. Aftergraduating from the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of SouthernCalifornia, he returned to Istanbul in 2006 to further his studies in the Cinemaand Television Department at Bahçeşehir University, while simultaneouslydeveloping his own independent projects.
In 2011, he was accepted into the San Francisco Art Institute in the United States, where he completed his Master’s degree in Film. During his time in San Francisco, he directed a range of advertising projects, refining his visuallanguage and narrative approach.
Returning to Turkey in 2019, Hakan directed numerous commercials and musicvideos, building a strong portfolio across different genres and formats. As a production designer, he also contributed to two episodes of the televisionseries Tyrant, broadcast on FOX in the United States.
Today, he continues to direct commercials while developing and writingoriginal scripts for his own feature film projects, focusing on distinctive visualstorytelling and character-driven narratives.
